Acoustic safety and hearing comfort
Acoustic safety is an escalating issue facing call centre workers. In the UK, the issue of acoustic safety is currently being addressed through legislation for call centre workers.
As the number of call centres and call centre workers increases so too has the issue of acoustic safety for headset wearers. Today it is not enough to wear a headset alone. In some circumstances workers are exposed to 8 hours a day of headset use, often with a volume equivalent to a jet airplane or chainsaw. Add to this the risk of an acoustic shock or spike in the telephone line and the combination is a potential hazard to headset wearers.
In this section of thewebsite you will find information about Acoustic Shock and its effects by independent experts from around the world and articles regarding Acoustic Safety in the workplace.
