The senior management at Department of Housing made a decision to purchase 80 units for staff as part of an occupational health and safety programme. NSW Fire Brigades

A number of acoustic shock incidents experienced by emergency services staff have recently prompted the NSW Australian Fire Brigade to trial the Soundshield acoustic shock protection device manufactured by Polaris Communications.
The emergency services staff found that the loud sirens of the fire brigade vehicles interfered greatly with their ability to converse with the firemen and caused symptoms such as fatigue and ear ache.
The staff found the Soundshield device to exceed expectations of the protection afforded them by this unique product, by eliminating the loud sirens and providing clear, intelligible speech at all times.
In our dealings with Polaris, we have found the staff to be very efficient and helpful at all times. We would highly recommend the Soundshield product to other businesses and Government agencies, whether they have experienced incidents previously or solely for precautionary measures.

Our Department is currently considering installing the Soundshield acoustic shock protection device offered by Polaris Communications as we have recently experienced a number of random acoustic shock incidents in our call centres.
The Soundshield device was recommended to us by other NSW Government departments whom had either experienced acoustic shock incidents or had installed the device as an occupational health and safety measure for their staff.
